Bill Tamboe, Licensed Optician
As a third-generation Optician, Bill Tamboe has generational knowledge of the eyeglass industry.
Bill has fond memories of learning alongside his Dad in the optical shop his Grandfather opened in Providence, RI. There was a time when his grandmother lived in the back of the shop and would come out and visit while Bill worked.
It seemed a natural fit that Bill would follow in the family trade after graduating from The University of Rhode Island. After completing his bachelor’s degree at URI, Bill went on to complete additional post-graduate work in Ophthalmic Dispensing. Learning with his family and completing this high level of training allows Bill to blend the best of traditional ophthalmic trade skills with modern technology.
Bill is a natural people person and enjoys talking to all the interesting people that come into the office. His curiosity about people and their lives enables him to recommend the best optical products to fit their lifestyles. Bill is meticulous in his craft and ensures every pair of glasses he dispenses is made to fit an individual’s needs.
When he’s not at The Eye Doctor, Bill can be found at his kids’ soccer matches or field hockey tournaments.
